11 Days 10 Nights
DAY 1
- Flight into Paro by Druk-Air.
- Delightful lunch in Paro valley.
- Visit Ta Dzong, the watch tower of Paro Dzong which now houses the national museum.
- Go to Thimphu , check in and rest after dinner.
DAY 2 Thimphu
- The biggest sitting Buddha recently built named Kuenzang Phordang.
- Changangkha Lhakhang: built in the 13th century
- Motithang Mini Zoo: where you can see Takin, the National Animal of Bhutan.
- Memorial Stupa: “a chorten to represent the mind of the Buddha”.
- Visit nunnery (The women monk temple) for drawing and meditation.
- Thirteen Art and Craft Institute: popularly known as Zorig Chusum.
- Thimphu Dzong
DAY 3 Douchula – Punakha
- Toward Punakha via Dochula, at an altitude of 3,050 meters above sea-level.
- Take a walk around the 108 memorial Chortens, one of the most beautiful passes facing toward eastern Himalayas.
- Visit Punakha Dzong, the administrative Centre of Punakha Dzongkha in Bhutan and winter capital for Thimphu monks.
- Visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choeten, built in 2004 by HM the Queen Mother.
DAY 4 Punakha, Wangdue, Trongsa, Bumthang
- To Wangdue Bridge where you can see the ruins of Wangdue Dzong which was damaged by fire.
- Pass through Pelela Pass (3,350m) with many colorful prayer flags in the background, excellent for photo takings.
- To Chendebji Chorten built in the style of the great Bodhanath stupa of Nepal.
- To Trongsa for lunch.
- Visit Trongsa Dzong.
- Drive to Bumthang valley.
DAY 5 Bumthang
After breakfast you will visit the following cultural sites:
- Padthselling Monastery
- Jambay Lhakhang Monastery
- Kurji Monastery
- Tramzhing Monastery
- Lhodra Kharchu Monastery
DAY 6 Bumthang – Gangtey
- Passing through colorful dense forest fields crossing Trongsa
- Lunch at Chendebji
- Passing through Pelela and reach Gangtey for night halt
DAY 7 Gangtey-Thimphu
- Visit Gangtey Monastery
DAY 8 Thimphu
After breakfast you will visit :
- Chari Monastery
- Pangrizampa Monastery
- Thimphu Zangdopelri
- Semtokha Dzong
DAY 9 Paro
- Hiking to Taktshang (the Tiger’s Nest).
DAY 10
After breakfast you will visit :
- Haa Valley
- White Monastery
- Black Monastery
- Chele La: Hosting flags
DAY 11 Farewell Bhutan
